As most of you know, the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius launched new 20 and 200 year eras. This Lunation continues to sprout Aquarian seeds during the last great compression for 300 years to come.
I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbols. For now, let’s take a closer look at this mystical, activating, harvesting and empathic Lunar eclipse Full Moon occurring at 12 am (0 hour) PDT Mar 25 at 6 Aries/Libra.
Last month activated this year’s Aquarian renewal. This month continues the Pisces influence as it adds a heavy Aries initiative with concentrated doses of spiritual energy giving new momentum to our work. This is another “fork in the road of destiny” Full Moon, with a need to learn to sense the flow and know when to go rest and when to be with others.
January and February are the times each year when the long wave Aquarian energies set into motion in 2020-2021 are renewed, with March and April giving impetus and solidity to the renewed Aquarian pulses. We are in a long wave building era, so stay focused on the new, the ideal, and whatever larger sense of purpose you’ve been glimpsing since then. Though Aries is the time of yearly renewal, it seems this eclipse has a lot of Pisces things to clean up, with Venus, Mars, Saturn, and Neptune all in that sign! It’s like this eclipse clears out Aries/Libra material so that Venus and Mars can attract new material in the future.
As this Full Moon has Sun in Aries and Moon in Libra, the Light of a genuine direct action can be expressed through Libra’s elegant and balance style. Show courage as you mobilize to "break on through to the other side." The Light of individual initiative can now be expressed through a vision of an ideal. This is an Arian Light of Direct Illumination expressed through a Libra feeling-vision, and begins a two week (and 4+ months) reminder that to reveal a new self sometimes one must obscure an old self, and to manifest a new ideal requires setting aside an old ideal which no longer fits.
Aries is the Light of direct action expressed through Libra balance, grace, style, and inner equilibrium. Aries can provide the courage and determination to express an ideal, or shut down an old facet of our expression so better ones can come forth. This is the Light of a new potential expressed through the need for clarity shown by the Moon. Because Aries/Libra is the axis of the archetype of the Lover/Relator, we can be ourselves as we dance with others and life itself. Be yourself, express yourself, enjoy yourself, and witness your integrity.
The Sun in Fire and the Moon in Air shows a time of the Cardinal Fire (activating inspiration) of Aries expressing its initiating Light through the Cardinal Air (activating relatedness and associations) of Libra. This is the last in a run of three Full Moons on the social and emotional levels in their signs, and next month we will return to a focus on the actional and material levels of our existence.
At this time, 4 planets are in the first third of their sign, 3 planets are in the second third of their signs, and 3 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a balance between social and emotional levels and the individual, mental, and spiritual levels, with a slight emphasis on the actional-material levels of life. Of note is the Spiritual Triad now are occupying different sectors while still approaching the completion of their many years in each.
Why Are Full Moons So Important?
At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.
That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We are now in a time of the year when the inner planets have finished opposing the outer planets. In this chart there is only one opposition involving the Moon opposing the Sun. This creates an “awareness generator” focused between 4-8 Aries/Libra.
Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?
The Sun is in Aries, making Mars in Pisces its worldly ruler, and Pluto in Aquarius its spiritual ruler. The Moon is in Libra, making Venus in Pisces her worldly ruler, and TransPluto in Virgo her spiritual ruler. With the rulers of the Sun and Moon both in Pisces, we have a serious Pisces backdrop to this eclipse! That's why we have to have the power, determination, and courage to move forward despite the pull to the past.
Besides the Lunation, Mercury is in Aries, ruled by Mars in Pisces. Venus is in Pisces, ruled by Jupiter in Taurus, which Venus rules, placing Venus and Jupiter in a “mutual reception,” a very powerful closed circuit of self-reinforcing energies. As Venus and Jupiter are in a favorable sextile, it shows the rulers of the chart are very productive and harmonious with each other.
Moving on, Mars is in Pisces ruled by Jupiter, Jupiter is in Taurus ruled by Venus in Pisces, and Saturn is in Pisces, ruled by Jupiter. Uranus in Taurus is ruled by Venus, Pluto in Aquarius is ruled by Saturn in Pisces, and as usual, Neptune is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself.
That makes Venus and Jupiter the main players in this chart, as they form a “mutual reception” which rules all the other planets except for Neptune who is its own “final dispositor.” By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. You can find out more about dispositors in general, chains of dispositors, and mutual reception by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames
Venus in Pisces is in its sign of exaltation, giving Venus a huge growth in empathy and compassion which we can all draw on. As one of the two who rule the stage as long as She’s in Pisces, this makes her very prominent for at least two more weeks.
As noted, She’s in a very favorable sextile to Jupiter, as well as Uranus. The only friction is Her waxing semisquare to Pluto which is challenging all of us to drop corrosive relationships and make sure we’re not getting deflected from what we want to do by a person or some old tapes playing in our mind. Still, the next 2 weeks should be extremely productive as we end what needs ending and find our harvest of “the garden of life and mind.” This will be very favorable for planets we have in the middle decan of the Earth and Water signs.
If you want to know more about how to shape your Venus power to attract better friends and relations in the future, please consider getting your copy of my book The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames. It is the most comprehensive book on Venus ever written, and explains why we attract who we do and how to create more satisfying relationships in the future.
You will understand the foundations of long term healthy relationships and friendships, why Soul Mates come into our lives, and learn how to shape your attractive power to have better times with better people in the future. Even if you’re not looking for a partner, this book will explain why certain people with certain traits came into your life and what they taught you about yourself.
It has chapters on the qualities of each sign’s natural mate, the qualities of Venus in each sign, and when crucial choices and changes are made, affecting who we attract in the future. It was written for both astrologers and lay people, and as it has a thousand gems for better relationships, with self, others, and Source, please consider getting your copy by going to the link above! (And when you’re done, please leave a review on Amazon, since it helps the book and all other books on astrology as well!)
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 6 Aries and 6 Libra. It is said that the first third (decan) of any sign deals with the actional, material, and physical levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the first decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Aries (Mars with an added dose of Mars) and Libra (Venus with an added dose of the Moon).
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar degree symbol for the 6th degree of Aries is “A square brightly lighted on one side.” In the The Astrology of Personality, where Rudhyar uses the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, 6 Aries is said to be a degree of “primal effort toward individual selfhood,” “first and uncontrolled interest in any given thing,” and “great inner restlessness.”
In The Astrological Mandala he offers that this degree is one of an “emotional desire for concrete and stabilized existence as a person, with a “desire for individualization” which focuses on “an exclusive goal.” He says this is a polarized emotional phase where all that is not of “the tribe” becomes the “potential enemy.”
He continues that this “first attempt at building an inner realization of integral being may be defeated at any time by the regressive pull toward undifferentiation and …nonindividualization,” and so this phase could be described as “a one-sided urge for inner stability.” He states this degree falls in the Span of Realization, Act of Differentiation and Scene of Desire on the Emotional-Cultural level.
Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “experience as the over-all sustainment of any personal or conscious being.” He continues “a materialistic reality is found to be sheer illusion when taken of itself or given any power on its own account, but it also is discovered to be the servant of every human impulse whenever life … achieves a motivation and an effective appreciation of its own nature.”
He closes with “Implicit here is the realization that things are given their fundamental ordering as they are accepted in consciousness.” He offers the keyword SET, and states that when operating positively, the degree is “the absolute unimpeachability of a genuine self-direction.”
The Lunar degree symbol for the 6th degree of Libra is “The ideals of a man abundantly crystallized.” In the original Jones class notes Dane Rudhyar published in The Astrology of Personality, he states this degree is one of “inevitable confrontation with the concrete results of one’s ideals,” “lessons to be learned from it,” and “willingness of heart.”
In The Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree is about “the need to visualized clearly one’s dreams or ideals in order to make them truly effectual.” He states “the process of interior visualization can be quite essential, except in the case of a creative individual who has become a totally pure channel for the descent of spiritual Power, and a clear lens through which the Archetype… can be projected.”
He continues that sometimes the “creative act is less direct: a (person) projects into the world what (they) have “seen” reflected on the screen of (their) individualized consciousness.” He offers that this is “a phase of interior formulation in preparation for a creative projection of one’s ideals or concepts.” He says this degree falls in the Span of Expectation, Act of Group Integration, and Scene of Transfiguration on the Emotional-Cultural level.
Dr. Jones says this is a degree of “experience as the practical or everyday substantiation of inner insight and conscious understanding.” He continues “idealistic reality is found to be sheer escapism of ever taken by itself or given any authority on its own account, but is the sole dynamic for the human spirit whenever any individual actually stands face to face with his opportunity.”
He finishes with stating that “implicit here is the realization that (our) Being has its beginning in the meaning with which it is endowed.” He offers us the keyword PERSONIFICATION, and states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree “is power through the full employment of imagination for the discovery and development of human potentiality.”
From these symbols it seems the Light of this Full Moon will help us find expression through a new interest, a new form of instinctive self-expression, or a new feeling about what we want to show our world and what we don’t. This is a new initiative in expression to escape the pull of the past.
This Light of self-initiated activity will be expressed through “emotional-social visualizations” involving “interior formulation” and insight showing us opportunities to be seized. This is an entrance into a new social or emotional archetypal state, where we can express a more ideal Self to our world.
Be willing to grow, and/or take responsibility for the appearance of something you’ve been formulating for a while. As the Moon is the handle of the Bucket, it shows that we may find that previously held idelas are being made manifest in elegant forms.
Of note is that this is the exact degree axis of the September 2023 Full Moon. This implies that something related to the end of September and early October 2023 is now either back for review or will be removed from our lives.
We’re in an Era of Overlapping Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles
As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape for the next 16-17 years. The next few weeks renews that Aquarius pulse, and promises 2024 to be a very “Aquarian” year!
We’re seeing the competition between the Capricorn and Aquarian cycles play out in the world between the regressives and the progressives, between the forces of control and the forces which resist control, and between the materialists and the idealists. The Capricorn cycles will be in play for many years to come, but by mid-century they will wane while the Aquarian cycles will have become dominant.
That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! If you’re wondering how this Great Compression and those to come will impact us, please check out the linked articles on the bottom of Part 1 of this series published yesterday.
TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption
I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back. If you want to know more about the vast spiritual field coaxing us toward a great redemption of the promise of Life itself, please take a new look at TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Spiritual Lessons of 2024. We have now returned to a time where we are again learning to get over our preconceptions and greet others with an open mind.
*********
At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)
In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,
The Great Invocation
From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on EarthFrom the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to EarthFrom the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serveFrom the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
See you soon with part 3 covering aspects, planetary sequencing, and other important factors in this Full Moon.
