At 10:05 am PDT on May 15 Mercury enters Taurus, becoming the last inner planet to join the party in that sign. This ends the Aries backdrop to planets and houses we have in Gemini and Virgo, and brings Earth to the forefront of those planetary Lights and life houses.
This should bring a stabilized momentum and easy coordination to all things related to Mercury in our charts. When it transits 22 Taurus, the degree of the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in April, we will get a new understanding of what that long wave theme is about. After that Mercury transits 24 Taurus, the degree of the Sun/Uranus conjunction of May 13, which will bring new ideas and new insights into the awakenings promised by that beginning, with the third Mercury/Taurus “find” when it crosses 29 Taurus, the degree where the Sun conjuncts Jupiter on May 18.
During its transit of Taurus, Mercury will conjunct Uranus on May 30/31, with conjunctions of the Sun and Venus to come in June. At this point it is accelerating very quickly, so pay attention to whatever signs and signals you get in May from Mercury, since it will continue to move at a fast rate of speed until the coming Superior Conjunction on June 14, after which it will begin to slow as it approaches its coming August retrograde at 5 Virgo.
Mercury is favorable in Taurus, as its earthy Virgo side likes the stability that Taurus brings. It’ll be good for planets in Earth and Water signs, and bring new important information marking points of change for planets in Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, and Scorpio.
It will make significant septiles and sextiles with Saturn and Neptune, showing periods of productive choice relative to our spiritual individuality and our connection to collective consciousness. By the time it trines Pluto and conjuncts Jupiter at 3 Gemini on June 4, we should have penetrating clarity and insights into some core issues showing us the future. I’ll speak more about that when Mercury enters Gemini.
Much of what was set into motion by the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction, as well as the Sun and Venus conjunctions with both of these spiritual powerhouses, will be understood from several different angles by the time Mercury moves out of Taurus. This understanding will be important to whatever seeks expression when Mars moves through Taurus and triggers ALL the various conjunction themes!
We’re still under the influence of the past Mercury retrograde themes through late July. If you want insights into the recent Mercury retrograde in Aries, or what’s coming in August and September with Mercury retrograde in Virgo and Leo, please reference your copy of my award winning book A New Look at Mercury Retrograde. It was the first book ever written about Mercury retrograde and has pretty much everything one could ever want to know about it! As it now has a new lower price, if you don’t already have a copy, please get yours today. Just make sure it’s the 2nd edition with the award on the cover rather than the first edition by Weiser.
