This year and last have been a long steady run of Jupiter in Taurus. Last year it taught us that the old answers and old approaches won’t work in our new conditions. It now blasts through Gemini on its way to it retrograde station at 22 Gemini in October, after which it will retrograde back to 12 Gemini where it goes SD in early 2025.
Jupiter enters Gemini at 4:15 pm PDT on May 25. As noted it moves forward up to 22 Gemini, and then goes stationary retrograde on October 9, showing the themes of 22 Gemini will dominate from early October through early May 2025 when Jupiter moves out of its shadow zone and quickly transits the last 8 degrees of Gemini until it enters Cancer on June 9, 2025.
Since mid-May 2023, we’ve all been on some sort of pioneering adventure wherever we have Taurus in our charts. While Jupiter in Aries initiated many things, Jupiter in Taurus has secured and stabilized what we needed to sustain the initiative. We now stand on the threshold of a year of discoveries now that we have what we need to move forward.
Jupiter expands and opens new possibilities. In Taurus, Jupiter allowed us to expand our stability, resources, values, and any other material or nonmaterial resources which will keep it simple, steady, and enjoyable in the future. In Gemini, we’ll have opportunities to expand our understanding, our knowledge, and our ability to communicate the ideas which turn us on and expand our ability to interact with our world.
Jupiter in Taurus brought us relative security, while Jupiter in Gemini will bring us an infinity of new views, new interpretations, new connections, and new ideas. Jupiter in Gemini is an adventure of discovery in the realm of ideas. Those who embrace this energy will find a quick diverse growth of the imagination and ability to connect many “idea dots” which will make for some diverse and interesting discoveries in the realm of mind and perception.
However, Jupiter in Gemini will also lead some who are stuck in non-productive inertia to begin searching for a) justifications to stay stuck in that inertia, and/or b) ideas which distract rather than inform, superficialities rather than depth perception. These people will see opportunity in being dilettantes, or moving in one direct and then another and then another, sampling everything and finishing nothing.
Who Is Most Affected by Jupiter’s Transit of Gemini
Those with Suns in Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces will all be looking for their place of greatest service, and need to open to greater possibilities of experience and self-expression. Just be careful not to overdo it, take unnecessary risks, or gamble what should not be risked. Be open-minded when discussing things with others and exploring how you want to represent yourself to your world, with an eye to keeping the initiative and momentum in your own hands as you ride a wave into the future!
Those with a Sun in Gemini will find their light expanding over the next few months, with new people to meet, new ideas to explore, new confidence, and a new sense of possibilities. Sun in Virgo people are now moving into a new professional or public self, securing the vision, truth, or opportunity which opened up before now. Much will be jump started in this realm between late July and early September 2024, so see the humor in things, explore ways to achieve the future, and be compassionate as you bless many endings.
Sun in Sagittarius people are seeing new relationship potential breaking the surface, and should allow a lot of freedom in any relationship they begin or are currently in. This is the midpoint of the cycle that began for Scorpio and Scorpio rising people between November 2018 and November 2019. Sun in Pisces people opened to a new sense of purpose between mid-May and late July 2021 which became a rocket ship into a new adventure the first four months in 2022, and this marks a turning point in things to do with the home, family, and the past. Whether Jupiter in Gemini brings new vision and understanding, if you have to move, remember that there are many options which naturally open when we’re ready to leave the past behind.
People with planets in Aquarius, Gemini, or Libra will find understanding, harmony, and/or stabilization in those life functions over the next 12 months. People with planets in Aries and Leo will find maximum productivity. This is an important transit for those with Pluto in Virgo and Sagittarius, Neptune in Virgo and Sagittarius, and Uranus in Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarius, and Saturn in Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.
It’s bringing the Jupiter return for those born with Jupiter in Gemini, ending an 11+ year cycle and beginning a new one. Those born in late May and the first week of June will experience a beginning or move forward into the new adventure quickly between late May and early July.
Those born the second week of June have experienced great protection and karmic returns in their new adventure in April and May, with a new adventure beginning the second week of July and lasting right up through April 2025 if they’ve done their spiritual work since 2012-2013. Geminis born the third week of June are in for karmic rewards and harvests from now through May 2025, when their adventure begins.
From now through June 15, Jupiter will transit 1-5 Gemini, from then to July 9 Jupiter will transit 6-10 Gemini, and from July 9 to August 3 it will transit 11-15 Gemini. Rudhyar states this span of degrees falls in the Process of Individualization, Act of Differentiation, Scene of Discovery, and Span of Zeal. Adapting what he says about the specific degree spans, the first 5 degrees are Actional, Physical, and Material. From 6-10 degrees are Emotional, Social, and Cultural. From 11-15 degrees are Individual, Mental, Philosophical and Spiritual.
That means from now through early August, Jupiter will give us a look at all three levels of the Scene of Discovery. In early August, Jupiter enters the last half of Gemini, the Scene of Exteriorization. It will transit 16-20 Gemini early August through September 9, and then sits in the emotional-social level of Exteriorization from September 9 through November 6, when it retrogrades back into the actional-material span of 16-20 Gemini between November 6 and December 16.
Jupiter then gives us a second retrograde look at 11-15 Gemini beginning mid-December, and retrogrades back to 12 Gemini where it goes SD in early February 2025. It will stay in that individual-spiritual span through March 25 after which it again moves through 16-20 Gemini from late March through April 25. It leaves its shadow zone in early May, and enters Cancer not long after that. I’ll give you more when Jupiter enters its shadow zone in mid-July, and more when it goes SRX in October.
So now Jupiter’s power of expansion is moving through the span where we get to explore, discover, move about, reorient, and find alternative views in the realm of ideas and perceptions, where we can use the momentum of Jupiter in Aries and Taurus to mobilize on our own behalf through positive actions which help us gather what we need. Late May brings awareness of things we never knew before, followed by a visit from “Santa Claus” in early June. It will radically expand the themes of the 2024 and 2023 World Teacher Festivals when it transits 3 Gemini and then 14 Gemini. Expect a huge expansion of the Wisdom Teachings as they have spread around the world last year and this one!
Expect Mercury to launch a new view or understanding of this Wisdom teaching when it conjuncts Jupiter in the first week of June. This will be activated by Mars when it transits early Gemini in late July, followed by its conjunction with Jupiter at 17 Gemini which sets a new two year cycle into motion wherever we have 17 Gemini. Expect to get alternative views and understanding when Jupiter RX transits the conjunction degree in early December, with the adventure taking off when Jupiter transits the conjunction degree a third time in early April 2025.
Just be ready to see to the core of things over the next two weeks as Jupiter trines Pluto! Then be ready to act on that in late July when Mars trines Pluto and moves into its conjunction with Jupiter in August. Just remember there is a very powerful Octile driven configuration active at that time, with Mars and Jupiter square Saturn and sesquisquare Pluto. Just keep things on track, try not to exaggerate the friction, set a wider goal, don’t get discouraged by the friction, and focus on being “liberated from/by adverse conditions which galvanize you to action.”
See you soon with part 2, with more on aspects, what Grant Lewi and Marc E Jones said about Jupiter in Gemini, and more. See you then!
