As most of you know, the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius launched new 20 and 200 year eras. This Christfest will bring a new loving Wisdom to the world wherever we have 3 Gemini and Sagittarius. Joy, humor, understanding, and the need for compassion are shown by this chart, as well as a “cutting, grinding, and polishing” effect which will help us reconsider many things as we stand on the threshold of a new era.
I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbols. For now, let’s take a closer look at this Wisdom distributing Full Moon occurring at 6:53 am PDT on May 23 at 3 Gemini/Sagittarius.
As this Full Moon has Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius, the Light of an open-minded discovery of enduring Wisdom ideas can be expressed through Sagittarius’ spirit of adventure and quest for greater truths. The Light of actional discovery can now be expressed through a sense of the moves needed to accomplish that vision. This is a Gemini light of a new understanding expressed through a new Sagittarius plan.
Remember this Full Moon distributes the particular “Buddha Wisdom” to the world for a year, and reminds us that once we’ve buried the past and substantiated some things, there’s nothing else to do but dance on down the road of Life. As the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, we can use the freshness, spontaneity, and new momentum promised by that Taurus New Moon to find new ideas, approaches, truths, and futures.
As this Full Moon World Teaching has Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius, the Light of enjoying all there is to discover within and without in our spiritual life can be expressed through Sagittarius’ humor, sense of freedom, and a philosophical approach to whatever comes. This is the Light of a new “mind unbound” expressed through the adventure to come shown by the Moon.
Because Gemini/Sag is the axis of the archetype of the Magician/Questor, we can learn and teach, experiment, see things objectively, and perfect our spiritual understanding of both high and low. Just remember there are many alternatives to examine before making a crucial decision.
The Sun in Air and the Moon in Fire shows a time of the Mutable Air (distributive relatedness and interactivity) of Gemini expressing its curiosity through the Mutable Fire (distributive inspiration) of Sagittarius. This is the next Full Moon with a theme focused on the actional levels of our existence.
At this time, 3 planets are in the first third of their sign, 3 planets are in the second third of their signs, and 4 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates an emphasis on the individual, mental, and spiritual levels, with a balance between the actional-material levels of life and the emotional and social levels. Of note is the Spiritual Triad now are occupying different sectors while still approaching the completion of their many years in each.
Why Are Full Moons So Important?
At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.
That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We are now in a time of the year when there are no inner planet oppositions to the outer planets. In this chart there is only one opposition involving the Moon opposing the Sun. This creates an “awareness generator” focused between 1-5 Gemini/Sagittarius.
Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?
The Sun is in Gemini, making Mercury in Taurus its ruler. The Moon is in Sagittarius, making Jupiter in Taurus its ruler. With both rulers of the Sun and Moon in Taurus, they are ruled by Venus in Taurus in its home sign. So this gives a powerful Taurus backdrop to what’s going on in this World Teacher Full Moon.
Besides the Lunation, Mercury is in Taurus, ruled by Venus in Taurus. Venus rules itself, Mars in Aries rules itself, Jupiter is in Taurus, ruled by Venus, and Saturn’s in Pisces, ruled by Jupiter. Uranus in Taurus is ruled by Venus, Pluto in Aquarius is ruled by Saturn in Pisces, and as usual, Neptune is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself.
That makes Venus and Mars the two inner planet “final dispositors” which rule all the other planets except for Neptune who is its own “final dispositor.” Of these, Venus is by far the most influential as She rules everything else.
By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. You can find out more about dispositors in general, chains of dispositors, and mutual reception by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames
Venus at the final degree of Taurus is very strong as it’s the fulfilling degree of the sign where She rules easy and secure. As one of the three which rule the stage of life, and easily the most influential, this continues Her prominence behind the scenes. Venus in Taurus can be very pleasant, loving Life in all its organic naturalness. As She is conjunct Jupiter and quintile Saturn, I am sure the global Wisdom being poured out at this time will prove most enjoyable with some highly specialized social events and connections to be made!
If you want to know more about how to shape your Venus power to attract better friends and relations in the future, please consider getting your copy of my book The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames. It is the most comprehensive book on Venus ever written, and explains why we attract who we do and how to create more satisfying relationships in the future.
You will understand the foundations of long term healthy relationships and friendships, why Soul Mates come into our lives, and learn how to shape your attractive power to have better times with better people in the future. Even if you’re not looking for a partner, this book will explain why certain people with certain traits came into your life and what they taught you about yourself.
It has chapters on the qualities of each sign’s natural mate, the qualities of Venus in each sign, and when crucial choices and changes are made, affecting who we attract in the future. It was written for both astrologers and lay people, and as it has a thousand gems for better relationships, with self, others, and Source, please consider getting your copy by going to the link above! (And when you’re done, please leave a review on Amazon, since it helps the book and all other books on astrology as well!)
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 3 Gemini and 3 Sagittarius. It is said that the first third (decan) of any sign deals with the actional, material, and physical levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the first decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Mercury (with an added dose of Jupiter) and Sagittarius (with an added dose of Mercury).
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar degree symbol for the 3rd degree of Gemini is “The Garden of the Tuileries.” In the The Astrology of Personality, where Rudhyar uses the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, 3 Gemini is said to be a degree of “genuine aristocracy and perfection of behavior,” “self-fulfillment in form and tradition,” and “collective strength.”
In The Astrological Mandala he offers that this degree is one of “the formalization of collective ideals through the application of reason and order to newly discovered aspects of nature.” He says the Garden of the Tuileries is a symbol of the “need for order and symmetry” in the time of Louis XIV who built them after the Renaissance.
He offers that this is “a reaction… to consolidate the gains made by the collective mind of European man,” which led to “formalism and… the narrow intellectual crystallization of dualistic concepts.” He continues that this bring “clarity” but also “ego-centralization and the worship of formalism.” He states this degree falls in the span of Zeal, Act of Differentiation and Scene of Discovery and is the synthesizing degree in the Actional-physical level.
Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “the self-confidence and authority which come… through social position and wealth,” and of our “ability to bring all (our) capabilities to some graceful and exquisite self-expression.” He continues that this deals with “the more exalted or immortal constants of everyday values” as “they are given a solid foundation in human achievement or are preserved through ha concern for them by people in general.”
He offers us the keyword LUXURY. He states that when operating positively, the degree is “the creative ability which enables each individual to participate in the full gamut of satisfactions developed and cherished” by others as well as ourselves.
The Lunar degree symbol for the 3rd degree of Sagittarius is “Two men playing chess.” In the original Jones class notes Dane Rudhyar published in The Astrology of Personality, he states this degree is one of "Recreation of a world of manifestation through symbols and intelligence" and "Schooled confidence in the judgment of self."
In The Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree involves "the transcendent ritualization of conflict," where we learn to transmute aggressiveness to "checkmate the ego," whether our own or that of another. This will train us to be "more objective, more careful, more aware of whole situations - and less impulsive and intent on side issues."
He says this operates at “the level of group culture and psychological symbolization” and bring “the basic realities in interpersonal interplay. He says falls in the span of "Receptiveness," and it's the third degree of the actional level of the scene of Abstraction in the Act of Group Integration.
According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, this is a degree of "the self-confidence and authority which come to (us) through (our) refinement of skills and discipline of understanding," and our ability to mobilize our potential when we are challenged by events. He says this degree is where we emphasize our individual "effective and profitable participation" in a reality we can master through our perspective.
Here "concentration is (our) genius of self-fulfillment," and he offers us the keyword ABILITY. He states when operating in a positive way, this degree is “high sensitiveness to every possibility of accomplishment or broadened self-discovery.”
From these symbols it seems the Light of this Full Moon will help us find some truth related to self-confidence that we can act with elegance, understanding and creative stability, expressed through a refining of skills and mobilizing our potentials. This is a way of finding satisfaction in accomplishment which opens doors to future activities.
We’re in an Era of Overlapping Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles
As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape for the next 16-17 years. The next few weeks renews that Aquarius pulse, and promises 2024 to be a very “Aquarian” year!
We’re seeing the competition between the Capricorn and Aquarian cycles play out in the world between the regressives and the progressives, between the forces of control and the forces which resist control, and between the materialists and the idealists. The Capricorn cycles will be in play for many years to come, but by mid-century they will wane while the Aquarian cycles will have become dominant.
That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! If you’re wondering how this Great Compression and those to come will impact us, please check out the linked articles on the bottom of Part 1 of this series published yesterday.
TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption
I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back. If you want to know more about the vast spiritual field coaxing us toward a great redemption of the promise of Life itself, please take a new look at TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Spiritual Lessons of 2024. We have now returned to a time where we are again learning to get over our preconceptions and greet others with an open mind.
*********
At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)
In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,
The Great Invocation
From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on EarthFrom the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to EarthFrom the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serveFrom the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
See you soon with part 3 covering aspects, planetary sequencing, and other important factors in this Christfest Full Moon.
