At 12:37 am PDT on June 3, Mercury enters Gemini, one of its home signs making it very powerful over the next two weeks before it enters Cancer. This ends the quickly passing Taurus backdrop to planets and houses we have in Gemini and Virgo, and brings Air to the forefront of those planetary Lights and life houses.
This should bring a quickening to all things related to Mercury in our charts. Because it is still accelerating since its last retrograde, it will bring speed to our ability to coordinate things, discover things, give and receive information, and see things from multiple points of view. It is now the final dispositor to all the other planets except Mars and Neptune, and continues in this role until June 17 when it and Venus both enter Cancer.
June should see things unfold at a very fast pace as Mercury moves through Gemini with great speed, only beginning to slow after the coming Superior Conjunction with the Sun at 25 Gemini on June 14. It then enters Cancer on June 17 after which it will be ruled by the ever changing Moon. Once Venus conjuncts the Sun on June 4, Mercury will again be the planet which “leads the Light,” showing that a prerequisite to “enlightened action” at this time involves discovering and sharing new information or perspectives as we embrace the Jupiter in Gemini adventure in learning.
so stay open to giving and receiving information for the next two weeks. Open to new ideas, new perspectives, new interpretations, and new ways of finding whatever you believe you need to know. Share information freely, since once Mercury enters Cancer, the mental principle will be more sensitive and caring and more open to “feeling-knowing.”
Mercury’s entry into Gemini will bring new perspectives and understanding on recent life events symbolized by the Sun, Venus, and Jupiter already in Gemini. And the coming Mercury conjunct Jupiter with both trine Pluto should bring insights into core principles and fundamental fairness, as well as a larger sweep of the evolutionary process.
Make the most of Mercury’s perihelion as the fast pace can help us get a lot done. After the Superior conjunction it’ll begin to slow down, preparing to enter its next shadow zone at 22 Leo on July 16/17.
For now, face forward, since you can get a lot of Mercury-related things accomplished through late June. Just remember that its square to Saturn on June 12 marks a major turning point in our understanding of Saturn this year, so have a sense of humor, get insights into future needs, and get ready to move into a new life adventure. A lot will break out in August, for better or worse. June’s squares to Saturn give us a heads up!
