As most of you know, the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius launched new 20 and 200 year eras. This Full Moon helps us reorient to a new way of caring, where the past feeds the future as we continue being “crafted to perfection.” Our recent purifications have led us to a new clarity.
I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbols. For now, let’s take a closer look at this Wisdom distributing Full Moon occurring at 6:08 pm on June 21 at 2 Cancer/Capricorn.
As this Full Moon has Sun in Cancer and Moon in Capricorn, the Light of a greater caring and concern can be expressed through Capricorn’s spirit of responsibility and maturity. The Light of actional decisions arising from our purifications and clarity can now be expressed through a sense of the structure and plan needed to accomplish what we want. This is a Cancer light of a new loyalty expressed through a new Capricorn plan.
Because the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, that being the New Moon at 17 Gemini, we can use the ongoing process of transmuting vitality into fresh ideas and views promised by that Gemini New Moon to find new allegiances, new attachments, and new ways of preserving what we value. We are moving into a new direction as a result of what we no longer carry within us that we’ve left behind since April.
We enter a time of the Light of savoring our personal experience we've nurtured up to now expressed through Capricorn’s sense of purpose executed in responsible ways. Because Cancer/Capricorn is the axis of the archetype of the Innocent/Primal, we can see the honest truth about anything we want to be educated in. Let the Light of instinctive deep knowing be expressed in selfless ways through your primal innocence which instinctively knows the right thing to do without ulterior motives getting in the way.
The Sun in Water and the Moon in Earth shows a time of the Cardinal Water (initiating personal experience and sensitivity) of Cancer expressing its mobilized self-interest through the Cardinal Earth (initiating practical personal power) of Capricorn. This chart continues a run of Full Moon themes focused in the actional and material levels of existence.
At this time, 7 planets are in the first third of their sign, 1 planet is in the second third of their signs, and 2 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a major emphasis in the actional-material field, Uranus and Neptune are holding the individual, mental, and spiritual field, with only Saturn holding the focus on the social/emotional field.
Why Are Full Moons So Important?
At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.
That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We are now in a time of the year when we approach the next set of inner planet oppositions to the outer planets with the first opposition to Pluto coming July 3! In this chart there are three oppositions involving the Moon opposing the Sun, Mercury, and Venus. This creates an “awareness generator” focused between 1-11 Cancer/Capricorn.
Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?
The Sun is in Cancer, making the Moon in Capricorn its ruler. The Moon is in Capricorn, ruled by Saturn in Pisces. As the Moon and Saturn are in wide quintile, this is very favorable and specializing.
Besides the Lunation, Mercury is in Cancer, ruled by the Moon. Venus is in Cancer, ruled by the Moon. Mars is in Taurus, ruled by Venus, Jupiter is in Gemini, ruled by Mercury, and Saturn’s in Pisces, ruled by Jupiter. Uranus in Taurus is ruled by Venus, Pluto in Aquarius is ruled by Saturn in Pisces, and as usual, Neptune is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself.
That makes the Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mercury the “chain of dispositors” which rule all the other planets except for Neptune who is its own “final dispositor.” Of these, Mercury (with Venus) are by far the most influential as they are both in great aspects to Mars and Saturn.
By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. You can find out more about dispositors in general, chains of dispositors, and mutual reception by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames
Venus at 6 Cancer is in a very comfortable positions for Venus, who likes to be cared for and pampered a bit in the sign of comfortable security. She provides serendipity via Saturn, boosting the Lunar quintile through collection of Light. In Cancer our relationships should be relatively easy and secure, even if sensitive and at times unsure. As she rules Mars and is in sextile, as well as Uranus which she noviles, this should be a productively spiritual two weeks.
If you want to know more about how to shape your Venus power to attract better friends and relations in the future, please consider getting your copy of my book The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames. It is the most comprehensive book on Venus ever written, and explains why we attract who we do and how to create more satisfying relationships in the future.
You will understand the foundations of long term healthy relationships and friendships, why Soul Mates come into our lives, and learn how to shape your attractive power to have better times with better people in the future. Even if you’re not looking for a partner, this book will explain why certain people with certain traits came into your life and what they taught you about yourself.
It has chapters on the qualities of each sign’s natural mate, the qualities of Venus in each sign, and when crucial choices and changes are made, affecting who we attract in the future. It was written for both astrologers and lay people, and as it has a thousand gems for better relationships, with self, others, and Source, please consider getting your copy by going to the link above! (And when you’re done, please leave a review on Amazon, since it helps the book and all other books on astrology as well!)
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 2 Cancer and 2 Capricorn. It is said that the first third (decan) of any sign deals with the actional, material, and physical levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the first decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of the Moon (with an added dose of Venus) and Capricorn (with an added dose of Jupiter).
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar degree symbol for the 2nd degree of Cancer is “A man suspended over a vast level place.” In the The Astrology of Personality, where Rudhyar uses the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, 2 Cancer is said to be a degree of “broadening of perspective,” “supremacy of intelligence over circumstances,” “conscientiousness,” and “objective self-control.”
In The Astrological Mandala he offers that this degree is one of “the ability to expand one’s consciousness by stabilizing one’s point of view at a higher level.” He says this is about “the intellect restlessly searching for new horizons” getting confused by its search, and needing “a stable focus” so it can “raise its point of observation and see reality in a truer perspective.” We are told this can help “the individual become the whole focused at this particular point for a particular task and function.”
He offers that this “establishes a contrast between a stabilizing new allegiance which limits the will, and the capacity to envision life from a wider perspective.” He states at this stage we can realize that “by giving up an indefinite search for two-dimensional extension, (we) gain elevation in the third dimension of consciousness.” He states this degree falls in the span of Expansion, Act of Stabilization and is the counterpoint degree in the Actional-physical level of the Scene of Decision.
Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of our “capacity for an illimitable overview of (our) experience in advance of (our) involvement in its details,” and “the infinite ramification of possibilities (we) are able to uncover in the world (we) seek to make (our) own.” He offers than the negative symbolization implies” the poise in act by which (we) escape the bondage of any random compulsions, and a leisure in perspective which preserves (our) free choice.”
He offers us the keyword CONTEMPLATION. He states that when operating positively, the degree is “an exceptional spread of comprehension and a continual self-orientation of understanding.”
The Lunar degree symbol for the 2nd degree of Capricorn is “Three stained-glass windows, one damaged by bombardment.” In the original Jones class notes Dane Rudhyar published in The Astrology of Personality, he states this degree is one of "underlying resistance to change in life foundations,” “faithfulness to self,” and “testimony of beauty against brute force.”
In The Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree involves "the necessary realization by any individual making a violent use of collective power that it will lead to the inevitable destruction of some of the values ensuring group-integration.” He explains that this refers to “the disruptive consequences of war,” where we must anticipate “the consequences of a too-impulsive use of this power in terms of violence.” He offers that the chief who wants to win at all costs may partially destroy that integration through being over-ambitious.
He then offers that the rose window “symbolizes that through which the ‘light of the Spirit’ enters” a church, and then relates it to our three-fold Soul, asking “which part of (our) inner trinity of principles tends to be destroyed by the use of violence? Evidently the principle of love and compassion.” He finishes by stating “the ‘capital’ of group energies is partially squandered in armaments and death. Waste is the opposite of group-integration. He says falls in the span of Illusiveness, and it’s the second degree of the actional level of the scene of Crystallization in the Act of Capitalization.
According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, this is a degree of our "illimitable capacity for memorializing (our) experience by the record (we) leave in history, and of the necessity that (we) protect (our) handiwork from the superficial destructiveness of a life without vision or pride.” He says this implies “the irrevocable narrowing of all things to their point of greatest personal significance, and the responsibility of the individual for exalting whatever (we) may draw to pertinence in (our) own case.
He offers us the keyword COMMEMORATION. He states when operating in a positive way, this degree is “effective self-dramatization in some vital service to human affairs.”
From these symbols it seems the Light of this Full Moon will help us find an overview which clarifies “the landscape” in some way which helps us reorient our understanding, expressed through what we preserve despite the destructiveness of the world. If appropriate, stop the misuse of force, or intervene where damage may be done. Some will have revelations about past violent episodes which damaged them or some relationship, and when this happens, turn to your Saturn power of forgiveness and bless it all to wash down the timestream while seeing how to use your understanding of the experience to help another get clear.
We’re in an Era of Overlapping Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles
As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape for the next 16-17 years. The next few weeks renews that Aquarius pulse, and promises 2024 to be a very “Aquarian” year!
We’re seeing the competition between the Capricorn and Aquarian cycles play out in the world between the regressives and the progressives, between the forces of control and the forces which resist control, and between the materialists and the idealists. The Capricorn cycles will be in play for many years to come, but by mid-century they will wane while the Aquarian cycles will have become dominant.
That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! If you’re wondering how this Great Compression and those to come will impact us, please check out the linked articles on the bottom of Part 1 of this series published yesterday.
TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption
I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back. If you want to know more about the vast spiritual field coaxing us toward a great redemption of the promise of Life itself, please take a new look at TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Spiritual Lessons of 2024. We have now returned to a time where we are again learning to get over our preconceptions and greet others with an open mind.
*********
At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)
In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,
The Great Invocation
From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on EarthFrom the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to EarthFrom the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serveFrom the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
See you soon with part 3 covering aspects, planetary sequencing, and other important factors in this “turning point” Full Moon.
