Nigel was a truly gifted composer of film scores and other types of music. He was a dear friend of mine. Today we celebrate his life and music.
Nigel Holton (7 July 1952 – 26 October 2006) was a prolific composer, producer, and extraordinarily talented man. He did film scores for 46 movies, and contributed to countless other albums and creative efforts. He died way too young from a rip tide while swimming in New Zealand. Today we’ll focus on his solo efforts, which are amazing creations of countless aural textures and great for meditation! For your enjoyment, the music of Nigel Holton!
From his first solo album, a creation I’ve listened to countless times, the title track “Above the Clouds”
Also from that remarkable album, “You Are Love.”
We'll follow those with “Waves of Time” and “The Arrival – Part 1”
From This Journey, which he describes as “A magical journey to distant lands and the inner world of the heart,” “This Journey”
Here’s a great link which will take you to one of his truly mystical creations on Above the Clouds, “The Road to Donegal”
We’ll close with a playlist of some of his best. This link should autoload a bunch of other great tunes from his first two albums! “Inner Journey”
RIP, Nige. There are more than a few of us who miss you and your beautiful smile. May you be composing and producing the music of the spheres to find the greatest joy in the highest frequencies of Devachan! Aum Namah Shivaya Our Brother.
