September 17 is the anniversary of the day the U.S. "formed a more perfect union" and created its Constitution, the ultimate law of the land. Astrologically, this makes today, not July 4, the true birthday of the United States government. (Constitutional chart at the link.) Of note is that it was ratified on 21 June 1788, effective as of 4 March, 1789. So I suppose we have a birth chart and a couple of “matriculation milestones” for the US Constitution which defined its quality of expression.
For the record, the chart for the Declaration should be for July 1 as that’s when it was first passed by majority. There are many views on how/when a nation is birthed, so if you’re interested, there are many historian astrologers who can fill you in over at my favorite Mundane Astrologers page on the internet. It's still a pretty good governing document, especially with the first 10 Amendments we call “The Bill of Rights.” Now if we can just hold on to our “Nation of Laws” despite the worst efforts of the totalitarians in our society and government to enforce minority absolute rule over the majority. The founders were brilliant, but some parts of it need updating for the 21st century to prevent treasonous insurrectionists from ever attempting to overthrow the government by force, coercion, or manipulation.
